Reaction to Lunchtime Lecture: Theodora Miller

My initial reaction to Theodora Miller's story was inspiration. The circumstances of her situation was hard to believe and it is amazing that she has been able to reach where she is today. I thought it was very interesting how her work reflected where she was at her stages of recovery and how her work for a long time was really the only the only thing she was allowed to do. The thing I have took from her speech the most was the fact that she does her artwork for herself and said that it was a "bonus" if people liked it. I think that is a really hard thing to do and feel like I could learn a lot by applying that mindset to my own work.
