Oil Painting Progress post

I have started to work on the underpainting of our oil painting with a focus on blocking out the major shadows and darkest areas so far. I plan to deepen the darks and start focusing on mid-tones as well. Eventually I will also add in the white to the brightest areas of the painting. I also plan to start getting deeper into the petals of the flower.
