For this project, I initially started with the challenge of proportions as I needed to combine my multiple reference pictures in order to create a coherent image. I struggled with the placement of the arms particularly and have made some alterations to them in comparison to what I started with. I think now though the proportions are starting to come together.

I have also been focusing on the center of the piece, the hand and person, the most. I am still working on the underpainting, particularly in the areas of the head and body, and may also need to adjust some shadows in the hand going forward as well begin to define details in the jeans and hair.

In the coming weeks, I will finish the underpainting of the person and begin to make way on the background, which to me is the most daunting part. I have outline the placement or where I would like some of the jewel/light balls to be, but have only actually begun the underpainting for one of them.
