Reaction: I really love Keiser's use of light and color in his work and I feel going forward I should incorporate his methods and compositions into my own work. His use of shadow particularly, is something I aspire to, as well as his oil sketches. In my own work I tend to focus on minute details, and while Keiser does as well he seems to work more intuitively, more "sketchy". While he still retains realism, he also attains a sense of movement in his work that would otherwise be absent.
I think that in order to help me achieve that goal, I could use one of Keiser's methods: a painting a day. I think that this would allow me to overcome any fear of the blank canvas and flesh out better compositions, attain a sense of movement, and become more comfortable with oil painting.
