This week's progress on our artist copy project included me practicing more with the quill as well as starting the actual drawing. I began the project be creating an enlarged grid of the original picture onto a bigger piece of paper and separating it into squares. I then drew a general outline of the figure with pencil so as to get the proportions right before I used more permanent materials. After that I began to draw using Rembrandt's mark which proved to be harder than expected. Rembrandt's actual drawing was a sketch, mostly likely done on a small piece of paper, and it was difficult to replicate that with as big of a piece of paper I am using. I also found it strange to have to reload the quill with ink so often, after using normal pen for so long.
